Waltham Walk 2019 (Edition 50) Results

50 teams entered this years 50th annual Waltham Walk – a challenge expedition through the Essex countryside, with 160 people walking. Teams encountered heavy showers on Saturday afternoon, but they cleared by evening and Sunday was a bright sunny day. The Main Event (age 14 -18) was won by “Operation Deliverance”, an independent team from Havering, who won the event two years ago. They narrowly beat 4th Barnet BB, entering the event for the first time. The Mini Trek (age12-14) was won by 11 Northampton BB, who won the event back in 2016. Only 7 points separated the top 3. About 20 youngsters aged 10 – 12 took part in the Teeni Trek, a newly introduced event, fully accompanied by their leaders, walking 10 mls each day. Being our 50th year, there was a large entry of 13 teams into the Supervets competition for over 18s. The top four were only separated by 12 points, with the winners for the past three years being narrowly beaten by 10th Enfield BB. The one day veterans event attracted just three entries this year and was won for the 2nd year running by a team fron 2nd Reading BB, Ladies who lunch !
